The all new 2014 Honda Pioneer 700 4 offers a versatile, adjustable seating configuration, that can accommodate two, three or four people and keep maximum cargo carrying capacity all the time. We’ve seen other Companies offer such transformations, but this one is particularly interesting because of the fact that an unused seat in the back can be kept in cargo box mode independently from the other, and that it retains the dumping box capacity. Of course, you might want to let your passenger get out before you dump your load of logs. This innovative convertible design allows the two rear seats to fold independently into the bed. No need for tools to quickly and easily fold away the Pioneer’s two rear seats and transform the rear back into tilt bed mode. A lower priced two-seat model will also be available without this system.
Designed, developed, and expertly built in the U.S., the Pioneer is sized like a two-seater, meaning it should be very agile and surely more maneuverable in tight trails than most other 4-seat models. It will also take up much less space in storage and will be simpler to transport.
We very much like the all-new rugged and aggressive styling of the Pioneer 700 4, clearly distinguishable from the Big Red, Honda’s current Side-by-Side which will be discontinued after the 2013 model year.
The new Pioneer incorporates industry-leading innovations, such as Honda’s proven 700cc-class liquid-cooled OHV single-cylinder four-stroke engine, featuring an automotive-style automatic transmission with hydraulic torque converter, three forward gears and reverse. The Pioneer 700-4 also boasts long-travel suspension that features 7.9 inches (front) and 9.1 inches (rear) of travel for enhanced comfort, and 1000-pound cargo capacity or 1500-pound towing capacity. In addition, standard passenger doors, nets, and headrests assist in providing a secure ride.
It will be available in three colors: Red, Green, and the new Honda-designed and trademarked Honda Phantom Camo.
A full line of over 50 accessories will also be available when the Pioneer arrives. Stay tuned for more information coming soon to honda.ca on this model, as well as additional new product announcements. Rumors of a new Honda Sport Side x Side are still brewing and we will certainly stay on our toes for that one.
