The acquisition of goggles is a difficult choice that involves several criteria. There is the “look” it exudes, the protection, the type of attachment, the color of the lens, the season of use and the last not to be overlooked, the comfort.
For my part, I have too often obtained glasses on the spot without analyzing too much. They lasted until they broke and my cycle of goggles started again with another. So I went through many models of goggles.
This time it’s different. The test introduces me to conscientiously produced glasses. The CKX 210° goggles distributed by Kimpex were more precisely made to measure for the Titan helmet from the same manufacturer. However, they work very well with many other helmets from different manufacturers. The goggle lens is virtually frameless with wide vision. This frame is made of very flexible polyurethane. The set comes with “ RapidClip ” straps, a clear lens, a smoke as well as a set of attachments for “ Tear-Off ”.
Test
Let’s go to the test. First, I need to install the “ RapidClip ” bindings on my LS2 helmet. With a little analysis, I position the self-adhesive “ RapidClip ” fasteners. A few small tweaks to the strap tension and I’m ready. As I am about to leave, there is an oops! The glasses come with the smoked lens and the sun is going to set soon. I then retrieve the clear lens and replace it without too much difficulty. I already find this simple principle of having the possibility of replacing the lens with another of a different color. It is even possible to get a double thermos for the winter.
My goggles are now ready for riding. I quickly appreciate the crystal clear quality of the lens as well as the enlarged vision it offers. I feel like the trail is in high definition. Night sets in and the temperature drops quickly. The ventilation offered by the CKX 210° goggles properly manages this temperature change without any fogging. The “ RapidClip ” straps are a first for me. It’s just… too simple. They don’t slip, they stay snug and most importantly, they come off and put back in place easily with one hand. Ok, the first few manipulations are erratic, but it improves quickly.
The CKX 210° goggles are a revolution. The flexible polyurethane frame as well as the triple density foam ensure long-term resistance and allow the glasses to offer great comfort. The ventilation holes are provided with foam which keeps the eyes well protected from dust and mud. The opening on the field of vision is optimal, impossible to go further. As for the “RapidClip” straps, if you don’t like them, standard straps are available and easily replaceable. It’s hard to offer better versatility and performance. Who will do better?
