You’ve got your hands on an older-model ATV and you’d like to fit it with a bumper, because the previous owner hadn’t done so. Bumpers are obviously designed to protect the vehicle from impact, but they can also be used to attach accessories. These might include auxiliary fuel tanks, a chainsaw rack or an LED light bar.
Bumpers can be purchased from the manufacturer when buying a new or late-model vehicle. But for older models, like the 2008 Suzuki King Quad 750 we’re interested in here, you’ll need to consider purchasing one from an independent supplier.
Bumpers supplied by Kimpex
Kimpex offers a most interesting product for equipping an old quad such as the one we have to equip. The bumpers are made of tubular steel sections painted with a powder-based baked-on paint.
These paints, which harden once baked, are highly resistant to impact while remaining flexible. They are also more resistant to UV rays and weathering than normal paint. This is a good thing for the durability and appearance of this equipment.
Mounting on the vehicle is very simple, thanks to the well-thought-out and straightforward fasteners, and the assembly instructions are well illustrated. And the parts fit as you’d expect, with no surprises. The end result is very satisfying, and the bumper design, especially at the front, enhances the quad’s rugged appearance.
