The MAXXA brand has just arrived on the market of utility trailers adapted to quads and ATVs. Made in Quebec, these two models will interest professionals looking for sturdiness and versatility.
The supply of work trailers is quite limited in Quebec and manufacturers are not necessarily specialists in this market. Some models are therefore not sufficiently adapted to the realities of the field.
This is what Martin Beaudry, owner of a company specializing in welding and metal transformation, noticed when working with a trailer for his own personal needs.
As Martin Beaudry explains: “I couldn’t find a trailer that could do everything I wanted. On the existing models, I always found elements to improve. The Maxxa is the trailer I wanted. A trailer that wouldn’t let me down and that would accompany me on most off-road work on the woodlot or the maple grove.”
A design for the big job
The Maxxa is easily recognizable. It is topped by a mast at the front and equipped with a winch with integrated brake that allows the V-bucket to tilt. Its flared shape can accommodate sand or gravel and can be unloaded quickly and effortlessly with its 45-degree tilt function. The rear panel pivots to dump the transported material.
This bucket can be disassembled to use the entire surface of the flat frame or to transport wood in 48 inches, for example. Optional log supports are available to increase the number of logs to be moved. The front mast can be removed, along with the winch, to provide more space. An oversized frame is then revealed, made with a 3/16″ reinforced steel frame. This is the main piece that supports the whole thing!
The drawbar that connects the trailer to the vehicle is long enough to improve maneuverability and can be detached when storing the trailer.
Everything about this trailer feels solid and reliable! The dual 18″ to 22″ wheels contribute to this feeling. The double axle is mounted on bearings and supports a load of 1200 lb to 1500 lb, depending on the model chosen.

A range for all needs
In fact, Maxxa offers two models with different dimensions to meet your needs. The Maxxa MXR45 is the traditional model with a 20 cu. ft. load volume, 12 inches of ground clearance and 18 inches of tires, while the Maxxa MXR46 can accommodate 24 cu. ft. The width and height are identical in both configurations, only the length changes. With the 22-inch tires, ground clearance reaches 14 inches.
When choosing between the MXR45 and MXR46, you’ll have to take into account the power, displacement and torque of the towing vehicle, since the higher gross vehicle weight increases the quad’s capacity requirements.
For both models, there are useful options depending on the needs or the season of use:
- For winter use, the wheels can be replaced with skis.
- CSR5 side rails are installed on top of the bed to increase the cargo volume by 8 inches.
- A 48-inch utility box in two separate sections is added to the front of the trailer. It includes a 5-liter gas can and a 3.5-lb. axe, and there will be plenty of room in the trunk to add your items (gloves, chains, other tools).
- Loggers will definitely want to add the chainsaw stand.
Distribution and marketing
The company is located in Drummondville and carries out the design and manufacturing on its premises.
It is currently building a distribution network to get closer to its customers in Quebec, Ontario and the Maritimes.
Maxxa now has its own Internet site where you can order directly and have your trailer delivered to a MAXXA dealer nearby.
Maxxa trailers have been designed and tested in Quebec. They are obviously made with quality materials to meet a growing demand and adapted to everyone’s needs. Whether it’s for the farmer, the logger, the maple syrup producer, the woodlot owner or simply for everyday work at the cottage, there’s something for everyone. All you have to do is try it!
